Monday, January 8, Nicole Techau was named Cedar Rapids Youth of the Year at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids Youth of the Year competition at First Congregational Church in Cedar Rapids. Nicole then traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska in March to represent Cedar Rapids and compete at the state level competition where she won the title, State of Iowa Youth of the Year! Then she went to the Regional Competition, July 17th in Chicago, Illinois but didn’t win. As a state winner though she was invited to Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Leadership Academy so she is leaving for Atlanta today.
