Scoutmaster Minute:
Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore.
Dream.
Discover!

Mark Twain penned those words years ago and they are still valid today.  Be prepared and take advantage of all the opportunities that come your way.

Speaker: Sandi Lafferty
Sandi shared experiences from her trip to Kathmandu, Nepal for her son's wedding.  The Lafferty-Banskota wedding was November 19-24, 2018.

She walked us through the voyage including a turbulent 20-hour plane ride, Nepal cuisine, bad water, and heavily polluted air.  The wedding covered 5 days:
  • Day 1:  MEHNDI - consisted of yellow clothing and henna tattoos
  • Day 2:  SAGEET - an insane and massive dance party
  • Day 3:  SWAYAMBHAR - the engagement ceremony
  • Day 4:  GROOM'S PROCESSING AND WEDDING - procession through town with groom in an old Model A.  Dancing in the streets and bands playing.
  • Day 5:  RECEPTION AND GAMES - huge celebration for about 500 people.
The second week of Sandi's trip was a sightseeing adventure.  They took a 7 hour ride through narrow roads.  The adventure included hiking, parasailing, a walking safari, and visiting the Chitwan National Park Forest.

Sandi showed us wonderful pictures of the 2 week experience.  She also shared a monkey story.  Just ask her about the monkey that clung onto her leg!

Next Week:
Social at Cedar Ridge.  No lunch meeting.

THE FOUR WAY TEST
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
