Food Insecurity

Emmaly grew up in rural northeast Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture with an emphasis in Midwest Ecology. Both of these experiences laid the groundwork for her love of gardening/farming, community health, and local food systems. Emmaly’s passion for growing local food systems and improving food access for all families in Linn County is paramount to Feed Iowa First’s mission. In addition to being Feed's Director, she also serves on the Linn County Food Systems Council, Linn County Diabetes Coalition, Cedar Rapids Wellbeing Advisory Committee, and LAP-AID.
