Announcements:

- Celebrating Anniversaries this month are Spencer Goettsch, Jeff Barnes and John Heiar.
- Boys and Girls Club is looking for Rotarians to judge the Youth of the Year competition on Friday, February 1st, from 4-7 PM. Please contact Patti or Sarah Hoeger if interested.
- Our annual Kids Against Hunger meeting will be January 31st at Metro High School. More info to come.
- Reminder, on January 10th we'll be at SOKO Outfitters for Rock Climbing offsite. Please sign up on the sign up genius email that Aaron Loan sent out.
- Jennifer Hanson and Wendy Nielson received a sticker for donating to Rotary Foundation. It is very important that we as a club give to the Foundation. Grants that we apply for are scored on Foundation giving percentage - the number of our members that give - so $1 or 1,000 or whatever you can do will help us in our efforts. Please donate by the end of the year. Please let Scott Johnson know if you have donated and not received your sticker so we can be sure the club gets credit.
- Communications committee is looking for note takers. This is an easy way to get involved in the club. Reply to this email if you are interested.
- If you have any Facebook updates to share on the MNR page, you can send to TJ, Shannon, Sarah H. or Patti
Speaker:
Joe Schmitt introduced our speaker - Dr. Lori Sundberg, President of Kirkwood
Dr. Sundberg is a well-recognized higher education professional with decades of experience as both an educator and administrator. She has several years of experience at the senior administrative level and served as President of Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Illinois, prior to joining Kirkwood.
Originally involved in institutional research, her professional background also includes experience in marketing, grant writing, human resources, negotiations and academic affairs.
Dr. Sundberg is a former first-generation college graduate and the first female to hold the position of president at Kirkwood.
Dr. Sundberg gave a short introduction of the college to our group and then spent the majority of her time answering questions from our members.
As is our custom - we will be donating a book to Metro High School's library in honor of our speakers.
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
