Save CR Heritage
Therese Smith is originally from Rochester, Minnesota. The Duane Arnold Plant brought Therese and her husband, Mark, to Cedar Rapids in 1984. Both are board members and volunteers of Save CR Heritage, with Therese serving as vice president of the Board of Directors.
Save CR Heritage is raising money to buy the historic Zastera Pharmacy building in NW Cedar Rapids and they're trying to spread the word about the project, which they hope will revitalize the historic Time Check neighborhood.
They received a substantial grant of $100,000 from the Hall-Perrine Foundation, and need to raise the remaining $75,000 of the purchase price by Aug. 1; a steep task, but one they think is doable! Photos of the building and more background on the project are on our website: http://www.savecrheritage.org/plans-will-return-historic-west-side-storefront-in-cedar-rapids-to-its-roots/ [savecrheritage.org]
