City View Community High School

Dennis Becker is the Head of School at City View Community High School in Cedar Rapids. He leads City View’s shift to an early-college model that pairs college coursework with two-days-a-week internships and community-embedded projects. Before City View, he taught at Iowa BIG and helped launch the G² interdisciplinary program at Prairie High School, working with business and civic partners on real-world learning. He has a master’s degree in Learning Sciences from the University of Iowa, and is pursuing his master's degree in educational leadership. His team centers student agency, competency-based credit, and strong advisor relationships so every graduate leaves with college credit, a portfolio, and authentic work experience. 

Trevor Templeman is a dedicated educator with a passion for storytelling, student-centered learning, and community engagement. Trevor brings a creative and thoughtful approach to curriculum that empowers students to reflect on their identities and connect learning to real-world issues. At City View Community High School, he is committed to building a learning environment rooted in respect, curiosity, and relationships.
